The executive committee of the eco-village is made up of the officers and chairpersons of each committee. The organization meets for a quarterly street-wide meeting. The last executive meeting was held on April 27.
Deborah Jordan is president of the ecovillage and was re-elected in 2008. Ruth Haneberg is Vice-President and Amber Weiss is secretary. Eileen Shenk is acting treasurer. Each term runs for one year. The committee chairs are: Promotions - Eileen Schenk & Lydia Stec, Housing - Dennis Coskie and Jim Schenk; Communications - Nancy Sullivan; Ecological Green Group - Deborah Jordan. Membership - Vacant.
At this meeting the eco-village committee-members composed the 2007 Annual Committee Report. Our Committees section gives more details on what our residents have been doing in the community.
The Hilltop Co-op purchases items in bulk through United Natural Foods. This is the same company Wild Oats orders from, and many items are less expensive through the co-op. We order once every 4 weeks. If you would like to join or for more information, contact Jim Schenk or Beth O'Hara.
A beginner level Iyengar yoga class is offered at the Cincinnati Zen Center, Monday from 5:30-7:00pm. E-mail RadiantSpiritYoga@gmail.com or visit the Radiant Spirit Yoga website for details.
The goal of the Cincinnati Zen Center (CZC) is to provide a place and the support of community for those interested in the contemplative practice of Zen. Our intention is that you feel welcomed and that much mystery and discomfort that is perceived to be part of this practice is set aside. You are welcome to just show up for any of our regular Thursday or Sunday sitting periods, the schedule for which you will find on both our Schedule page and our Events Calendar. Please come 15 minutes early and let someone know it is your first time, and you will receive a brief orientation to our practice forms. Dress is for comfort, although wearing dark or subdued colors is helpful to the spirit of practice. You will be welcome to stay after practice to ask questions.
The following projects are being in the works, and could use participation and support.
